Die Lokohelp Group is proud to say that the participation at the WCNR 2010 (World Congress for Neurorehabilitation) in Vienna was a full success. A lot of the international specialists in the field of rehabilitation took the opportunity to test the LokoHelp gait trainer by themselves - with positive judgement from everybody. Especially the muscle acitivty in the upper limbs was considered as remarkable compared to other gait trainers. The price performance ratio is another advantage of the LokoHelp gait trainer.

Installation and training in the Wuxi Rehabilitation Hospital and in the Suzhou Fraternity Hospital in the Jiangsu Province, China.  In December 2009 we could install the second and third system of the Lokohelp Group in China. After successful installation physicians and physiotherapists of the hospital were instructed by a theoretical presentation and lecture about the basics of the locomotion therapy with treadmill as will as about the LokoHelp-therapy. Following the theory was put into practise by hands-on-training. We are very pleased about this event and even more that the children at the Wuxi Rehabilitation Hospital can benefit from our efficient LokoHelp-system now.

Great Christmas-present for Marco Conen and the Paul-Moor-Schule

First steps on the treadmill-ergometer without any help: a great desire of Marco Conen has come true now thanks to the initative of the Paul-Moor-Schule and the engagement of numerous donators.  
Almost 40.000 EUR were necessary to buy the therapy system “LokoStation” by the Paul-Moor-Schule and especially for the pupil Marco Conen.

Guido Uhl, managing director of the Heilpädagogische Hilfe Bersenbrück (HpH) and Dr. Axel Kreutzer, Headmaster, who trains as a sports teacher with Marco, are more than happy about the fact that this kind of therapy can be offered to Marco now. 4 years ago the 18 years old grammar school pupil had an accident ago and is seriously handicapped since that time.

The purchase of this special device could be realized thanks to the engagement of unbelievable many friends of the HpH, amongst others many athletes who acted all in good cause during several fund-raisers (Paul-Moor-Marathon, Beachvolleyball Cup in Weese, Socker Cup „Aktion Mensch“ in Settrup).

After having signalized financial support also from Frank and Marianne Kochmann-Stiftung (Wallenhorst) and the engagement of the supplying company Gehrmeyer, Osnabrück to deliver the device at the pure purchase cost, the Heilpädagogische Hilfe Bersenbrück could give the O.K. for the purchase order.

An “extra bonbon” followed by return from both manufacturers Lokohelp Group and WOODWAY. “Both companies are located in the south of Germany, in Weil am Rhein and we are happy to support the Paul-Moor-Schule in Bersenbrück with the delivery of the therapy system LokoStation for treadmill training. In order to let the users benefit from the newly developed gaittrainer Pedago also, WOODWAY – manufacturer of the well-known slat-belt-treadmills with body weight support - and the Lokohelp Group waived a part of the purchase price in favour of the Paul-Moor-Schule”, advised by the management.

The clou of this newest version of the LokoHelp-gaittrainer: the Pedago was originally developed for patients who are not able to walk. Marco Conen can exercise walking on the treadmill with body weight support without being dependent on any support of two or three therapists. The LokoStation can be used without the Pedago-gaittrainer at any time as well by patients who are able to walk in order to improve their walking ability. Moreover the system can be used for fitness training on the treadmill – thus even the employees of the Paul-Moor-Schule can benefit from this new achievement.

This extensive initiative for Marco Conen was impressing the company founder and inventor of both the treadmills and the gaittrainer, Willi Schoenenberger such, so that he was present during the delivery and the installation of the system.

Within the official handover of the donation Dr. Axel Kreutzer proudly confirmed that this device is available in a few rehabilitation clinics of Germany only. “The Paul-Moor-Schule is the first school where handicapped pupils can be advanced in motricity in a very effective way.” Frank Kochmann, founder of the foundation added optimistically: “Mutually and with engagement it is possible to realize an efficient help. The exemplary initiative of the HpH will reassure other facilities to go about similar projects.”
