The automated therapy - Development Gait Trainer LokoHelp |
|
The guidance of patients' legs is an exhausting job and requires power of the therapist. Thus the automation of treatment by a machine suggested itself. We just followed this idea consequently when developing the LokoHelp. In co-operation with specialists from clinics in Germany, Switzerland and Czechia we created the gait trainer LokoHelp. LokoHelp is designed as an add-on-module for the WOODWAY LokoStation and is optimally completing the therapy system for the automated locomotion therapy.

During the automated locomotion therapy the exhausting manual guidance of the patients' legs by the therapists is not applicable. Longer therapy periods per patient and more patient treatments are possible. The experience of a therapist is no longer an important requirement. LokoHelp guarantees a continuous and rhythmic gait pattern during the entire treatment. Natural walking on the treadmill guarantees the afferent inputs, especially pressure on heels before initializing the stance phase as well as pressure on toes before the changeover into the swing phase, which are relevant for the success of locomotion therapy.
In comparison to other therapy systems LokoHelp convinces with following features:
Possibility of adaptation: Thanks to the co-operation with WOODWAY it is possible to adapt LokoHelp to most of the WOODWAY-treadmills with body weight support system (LokoStation). Simple installation: LokoHelp can be easily mounted to the treadmill by a prism lock. No maintenance: The absence of a drive technique or control electronic that may fail lowers the risk of downtime. This improves long term continuous use, resulting in improved efficiency and cost savings. No time-consuming trainings: The simple application of the LokoHelp keeps the costs of training therapists to a minumum. Multifunctional application system: The LokoHelp is easy to put on and take off, helping to free the treadmill for other applications. WOODWAY and Lokohelp Group together have created the ideal multi-functional physical therapy system. |
